STICKY: Whats Eating You?

February 5, 2011
Many people in this country have turned to another addiction and losing sight of health silently. Food addiction has become more in the spot light with The Biggest Loser show with morbid obese adults coming forward by the thousands. Also, not just the USA. I have never missed an episode of this show over the years as they are me too! We just see a different number on the scale. Weight isn't a defeat or a way to punish ourselves, but rather a gauge of where we are in life. No shame, no blame, no embarrassment, but rather a sign of our needs.

I, personally, have always had to stay aware of my weight and eating habits. In my teenage years and into my 20s I was on this rapid roller coaster of starving and gaining weight. I was introduced to exercise the first year of my sobriety at the age of 22 and it was a godsend. Now, this doesn't mean it answered all my prayers, because awareness to eating is my biggest issue.

I hit my all time weight of 215 (Many years ago) after a year of serious health issues. I was devastated! I set out on a journey to  lose 70 pounds and I did. I kept this off for many years until I quit smoking in 2005 and gained about 15-20 pounds. Over these past years I just couldn't lose this weight, but have never given up.

Last year with my physical health continued to have some serious issues and decline, I still find a way to exercise 5 days a week. I have given up the hard work outs (that I LOVED) and went to Hot yoga that I love, surprisingly more! 2010 was a very rough year for my health with surgery, physical therapy, and more issues I do not care to make public at this time. I gained 18 more pounds.

January 2011 is my new, fresh year and created the healthy eating plan. I found a website that calculates many things to empower my journey to hit my weight loss goal on June 27, 2011. (Join me on this journey)

Click here for this website with many tools to put the logic in your weight loss and join us for the emotional journey for MUCH needed support.

You are not alone and I am here going through this too!

No worries! I am simply losing the weight gain and finding me again... (Even with health issues, where there is a will there is a way)

** As always check with your doctor before starting any weight loss program and journey.

I have been an avid workout person for years now, but declining health issues have forced me to find a new workout routine and softer on my body. However, I still want great results. My normal workout schedule is 5 days a week with two skip days. Thank God for the internet I was able to research Hot Yoga in depth. I LOVE a good sweat that a hard workout gave me, so this was a must. I found a great website with free videos and I heat my small workout room to 100 degrees and about 50-60 humidity. For now until I move (then will buy something that combines both) I use two space heaters and a vaporizer. I have a cheap thermometer that has a humidity dial on it to.. Waaaalaaa....A Hot Yoga room! I use to have a salon in my home ions ago and had a tanning room too. This has become my workout room since, and it has an exhaust fan in it so when I am finished I can get the humidity out of the room immediately. Here are a couple great places to read and add Yoga to your life. I truly wish I would have made this transition sooner. I practice Yoga 5 days per week in a hot room.......Looove it! Food issues!

My name is Gina and I found this amazing website this week from a wahm website. This is such a good fit for me! I love that it has a message board. It must be new since there are not many people on it.

I ran across the weightloss - body image success workshop and I wondered if anyone has tried  it? To be honest, it sounds wonderful and maybe it is just what I need.

I am in my 40s and want to stop this stupid food issue/ junk food problem I have once and for all. I am tired! You see I only have like 20 pounds to lose, but saying good by to my favs is soooooo difficult.

I read about it and the price is perfect! I am going to give it a try. I really liked hearing 'body image success' it sounds so peaceful compared to my freakin head games I play.

If anyone has tried it please let me know.

Gina
Listen up Ladies, as your excuses have run out.

There are no longer any excuses not to care for ourselves as women.

Trust me on this, so get a piece of paper and a pen. With this small shopping list you will  making a quick trip to your local Dollar store or some people have a .99 Store. I use this as an example because if you live in the boonies you can still  find a store with great values.

Items on your list:

1. Incense - You will find these in the air freshener section. Look toward the top shelf. If you don't have a burner a small container with sand will work just fine. $1

2. Go to the soap section and find Vaseline Intensive Care bath beads. They usually have two scents. My fav is Gentle Breeze. No it isn't in a fancy jar, but you will never choose another brand again! $2

3. Go to the baby section and choose the lavender topped lotion. The store brand one. $1 [Some places maybe $1.50]

Now choose a time to take a hot bath and relaaaax! Trust me here...

And its all only $5!

Motivation

I kept telling myself that I was fat and ugly, and when my clothes don't fit, its like my clothes are putting me down as well.  Of course this depressed me and made me want to eat the junk food that much more.  What a nasty cycle!

BUT, I am excited to share that I have started Jazzercise.  I have gone to class 3 times now and its kicking my butt but I love it!  It gets me out of bed in the morning and moving.  I already feel better about myself and want to be a healthier person.

I have a long ways to go, but I am excited for now.  Anyone have suggestions on how to keep myself motivated?  I tend to be all gung ho about something and within a month loose that motivation, and I really don't want to do that this time.
